Privacy notice
Version of 31 October 2026.
What is collected now
This release of the site is a read-only reference. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party scripts. The hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, requested page, time, browser identification) for security and capacity purposes for a limited period; these are not combined with any other data. If your browser supports it, the compare tool may keep your selection in your browser’s local storage; that data never leaves your device.
If you write to [email protected], your message and address are kept for as long as needed to deal with the correction or request, and then deleted.
What will be collected when accounts open
When verified-owner reviews open in November 2026, creating an account will require an e-mail address at a non-free-mail domain and proof of ownership in the form of the instrument’s serial number. The serial number is used only to verify ownership, is checked by a person, is never published and is not shared with the manufacturer. The e-mail address is used for account access and for notices about the instruments you have registered. You choose what is displayed next to a review: name, organisation, country, or none of these. A separate notice will be published when accounts open and this page will be updated.
Your rights
You may ask at any time what data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to [email protected]. Deletion requests are carried out within 30 days; reviews already published are removed or anonymised as you prefer.
Controller
The data controller is the publisher named on the imprint.
